People buy a car based on their preferences. Well, what about you? Do you like luxury? The 2017 Acura MDX is the upcoming car produced by Honda.

This model was presented in March 2016 at the 2016 New York International Auto Show. The car designers added luxury details in this luxury SUV with bolder design and with a hybrid model with all-new Sport Hybrid Super Handling – All-Wheel Drive system (SH-AWD).

With this release, all MDX grades will be equipped with AcuraWatch as standard which makes it the first luxury SUV with such advanced safety and driver-assist features in its class.

For the 2017 year edition, all MDX models will come with the AcuraWatch suite as standard equipment. That includes Lane Departure Warning, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Lane Keeping Assist, and Road Departure Mitigation.

When it comes to the engine, you can expect more from this car. The car will use the same V6 engine with a 3.5-liter capacity that we can find in the 2016 year model.

This powertrain delivers 290 horsepower with 267 lb-ft of torque. Plus, the new Acura MDX is equipped with 9-speed auto transmission with optional Super Handling All-Wheel Drive System (SH-AWD). When it’s about fuel efficiency, this car is considered to be fuel-friendly and it will be rated around 22 mpg for both FWD and AWD system.

The Hybrid variant comes powered by a combination of a 3.0-liter V-6 engine with an integrated electric motor that powers the front axle and double electric motors for the rear wheels. This combination has a total power of 325 horsepower which represents 35 horses more than standard, non-hybrid models. It comes paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox (7DCT). When it comes to fuel economy it has EPA ratings of 26 mpg combined.

The hybrid trim level will come with Advance and Technology packages with new Active Sport Suspension which enhances handling performance, ride quality and integrated with the Integrated Dynamics System it has three dynamic drive modes: Comfort, Normal, and Sport while Sport Hybrid models will also have a new Sport+ mode.

Honda officials offer us information regarding the release date of their new Acura MDX 2017.

It will hit Honda dealerships in summer 2016 while the Sport Hybrid version will come later this year. As for the price, perhaps there isn’t much change when compared to the previous version.

It means the car price will start around $44,000 and go up to almost $60,000 fully equipped with higher trim levels. The cost of the 2017 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid will be announced closer to its release date.
